:: A CARNIVOROUS PLANT AT HOME - CULTIVATION INSTRUCTIONS 4

To cultivate these carnivorous plants, hold the following advices.

In October, November, December, January, February, keep the temperature between 10 °C et 18 °C, gently resume watering without letting water in the saucer. Yellowing of the plant in spring indicates the begining of the dormant period. Then let gradualy the soil dry (except for south african Drosera) to bring the plant to a total dormancy, keep the soil almost dry by watering slightly above the ground 1 time per week until to the following October when the plant regrowth.
The substrate is a mix of 50% peat and 50% quartz sand.

PS : Upon receipt of your plants in January, February as tuber, plant immediately and follow the care described above. If plants are still not woken up in April, your plant may skip a season of growth. Wait until next winter before you decide on the failure of culture.

Never do it. Never believe it.

Never spray the plants with water.

No fertilizer, they are frugal.

Do not feed with insects nor with chopped meat. They won't die of hunger, their roots allow them to draw water, and small amounts of minerals contained in the peat. The supplement is made by the catched preys.
