The collection offers six different taxa in the genus Pinguicula. The name comes from the Latin pinguis, meaning "fat", in reference to the greasy leaves. Where they grow? Some species grow in the southern hemisphere, but the vast majority is located in Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and other tropical regions, temperate and arctic Northern Hemisphere. This kind of small carnivorous plants display pretty flowers of a few inches tall and varying colors (pink, purple, white, ...), the flowering times can span several months. The delicate beauty of these plants can not efface their carnivorous manners. The sticky leaves are covered by glandular hairs that capture small prey, small midges and mosquitoes. Culture: Easy, rare repotting are required. Use soil composed of 50% peat and 50% quartz sand to drain. These plants should be kept in their expeditions pots, they will enjoiy a place at a few inches from the window and at the same level as the glass. The situation must be bright, but avoid direct sun. Place the pots in a saucer and fiiled it with 1 or 2 inches of rain water or demineralized water. A detailed  culture notice is provided in the shipment.
